Disney+’s hit show, The Mandalorian, has done the impossible. It has brought together the most divided fandom in pop culture, the Star Wars community. The show’s lush visuals, intricate lore building, and a beautiful score are already enough to reel audiences in.
But the show’s greatest asset, the adorable “Baby Yoda” or The Child lights up the screen with every appearance. It has lit the internet on fire, lending itself to thousands of memes and hundreds of impressive fan artworks. While it is depressing to think that in only a few short weeks the season will be over, leaving us with an extended absence of our Baby Yoda fix. Don’t fear, here are 10 pieces of adorable Baby Yoda fan art that will cheer you up and make you say, “this is the way.”
Baba Yaga Meets Baby Yoda
In this fantastic piece of fanart, titled “Final Boss”, John Wick has met his toughest adversary yet, the ridiculously adorable Baby Yoda. As artist BossLogic points out, John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum dominated the box office earlier in the year, and now Baby Yoda undeniably holds the internet hostage every Friday. So, it is only natural that the two face off in the unlikeliest of duels.
Hopefully, the dog-lover/deadly assassin will help the green toddler instead of hurting him. In a perfect world, the BabaYaga, Baby Yoda, and Mando could create the ultimate team up and take on the High Table and The Bounty Hunter’s Guild together.
Penciled Baby Yoda
Artist jasonpalmerart focuses in on Baby Yoda’s best feature, its cute beady eyes. Although the artwork appears to be a drawing, Baby Yoda’s eyes seem almost too lifelike. Baby Yoda looks ready to leave its crib and follow Mando on an adventure.
The attention to detail in this drawing is superb, everything from the blue background to the small details in the coat and the crib makes this artwork pop. Aside from the eyes, the artist does an excellent job with Baby Yoda’s facial wrinkles and grey hair while still retaining the 50-year-old baby’s inherent cuteness.
Appa and Yoda
This fanart combined the unlikeliest of combinations: Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Mandalorian. Drawn by TheAmazingPeep and posted on Reddit, the artwork features Baby Yoda gracefully riding on the eternally loyal flying Bison, Appa. An adorable touch is the fact that Baby Yoda even looks like Momo, the flying lemur in Avatar.
The duo of Appa and Baby Yoda is not only a cuteness overload, but the merging of both worlds brings tons of fun possibilities. An Airbender and “forcebender” would make quick work out of any enemies that stand between them. It’s an amazing artwork of two beloved characters from two revered television shows.
Baby Yoda Time
Can Baby Yoda get even more adorable? The answer is surprisingly, yes. Artist slitheryss completes Baby Yoda with stray little hairs and gushing green hearts in its eyes. Baby Yoda seems so happy and comfortable, and endearingly precious.
The art style fits so perfectly within the world of Star Wars from the weave detail in Baby Yoda’s coat, the fuzzy hairs, and its neon green hearts.
Pixelated Baby Yoda And Mando
This fan art from artist Dave Rapoza reimagines our favorite father-son duo as SNES style video game characters. In the artwork, Baby Yoda observes his Mandalorian dad with its big beady eyes while Mando prepares to shoot with his disintegrator rifle. Which proves that even in pixel art, Baby Yoda’s eyes are still magnificently adorable. Mando looks a lot like another Mandalorian bounty hunter, the infamous Boba Fett, with his brown cape and greenish hue.
This makes sense considering the artist features another pixelated artwork this time of Boba Fett, obviously without precious Baby Yoda. At times The Mandalorian already plays like an RPG video game, but this fanart renews interest for an actual video game based on the series.
Kratos Yoda And Boy Yoda
Even though Grand Master Yoda may not actually be the father of Baby Yoda, that hasn’t stopped the internet from pairing the two together. Artist OBlackThunderO posted on Twitter his Baby Yoda fanart inspired by the latest installment of God of War. Adult Yoda, dressed as Kratos, wields the leviathan axe as if it were a lightsaber, while Baby Yoda (replacing Atreus) adorably drinks his soup like he was in episode 4 of the show.
It’s the kind of fun pop-culture mashup that makes us wish it were true in real life. If only there was a mod in the game to make it happen.
Baby Yoda In His Crib
Artist Mikey@buffstuff captures what everyone feels about Baby Yoda, with their endearing artwork. In the artwork, Baby Yoda lovingly peeks out of its floating crib eager to see the world. And with the small heart above Baby Yoda’s head, this already adorable piece of art becomes even cuter. What makes this fanart stand out is how well it fits with the visual style of the show. The art style closely resembles the end credits artwork that appears in every episode.
The artist also posted the piece on Twitter quoting Rosa’s famous line about her new puppy in Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Needless to say, if something terrible were to happen to Baby Yoda, Disney would have a riot on their hands.
Adorable Baby Yoda
Artist rodney_amirebrahimi reminds everyone what makes Baby Yoda so lovable and precious. It looks like a simple painting, but Baby Yoda appears so realistic and adorable in its winter coat. Baby Yoda seems almost sad or concerned as if Mando left the child behind again or got himself in trouble.
Its facial expressions are open to interpretation, like the Mona Lisa of Baba Yoda fanart.
Frogs Are Friends
It seems like Baby Yoda can do no wrong. Even when Baby Yoda is eating a frog whole it still manages to be the cutest thing ever. Artist LukeDuoArt decided to take that moment and combine it with a famous Finding Nemo quote.
In the artwork, a frog sits atop of Baby Yoda’s head as Baby Yoda has finally learned that frogs are friends, not food. Except, in Yoda’s backward speech it adorably becomes “friends, they are. Food, they are not.” When Baby Yoda learns to talk the internet will explode.
Lovable Baby Yoda
This Baby Yoda doodle, from artist Jiiri, deserves all the likes and attention Twitter can give. Baby Yoda looks utterly adorable with its big marble eyes and its little tongue sticking out. The art style makes Baby Yoda resemble a mix between My Little Pony and Eevee from Pokemon.
It has this cutesy appearance that makes it hard not to fall in love with. Even if Baby Yoda’s coat is purple in this artwork and not the usual brown. The artist does an excellent job blending the color palettes. Yoda is too pure for this world and we definitely do not deserve it.
