Disney+’s The Mandalorian has not only given fans an excellent Star Wars TV show, but it has also introduced one of the most adorable characters in the galaxy: Baby Yoda. The character is of course not a young Yoda (unless you listen to some bizarre Baby Yoda fan theories), but that is the name some people have given the child since we don’t know his name or even his species.
The character has quickly become loved by fans, with many buying any piece of merchandise Disney releases. Other fans, however, are a bit more dedicated to the little green guy. Here are the 10 Adorable Baby Yoda Tattoos.
Calvin And Hobbes
Mando and the Child may be everyone’s favorite duo of 2019, but another iconic duo dates back to 1985. Calvin and Hobbes was a popular comic strip that ran for 10 years from 1985 to 1995. Despite ending almost 25 years ago, Calvin and Hobbes are still very much a part of pop culture.
This tattoo from Jakob Wyrd combines these two worlds, drawing Mando and Baby Yoda in one of Calvin and Hobbes’ more familiar poses. If only Disney started a Mando and Baby Yoda comic strip. It might even bring newspapers back into mainstream popularity!
Munching On A Space Frog
Pretty much every episode of The Mandalorian has Baby Yoda doing something adorable. One of the more serious episodes in the series is “Chapter 4: Sanctuary” when Mando and Cara Dune save a village from the ruthless Klatooinians. While the episode shows a bit of Mando’s backstory, the spotlight was once again on Baby Yoda with the episode giving fans plenty of meme material.
One of the funniest scenes in this episode comes when Baby Yoda tries to eat a space frog in front of the village children. Seeing how grossed out the children are, Baby Yoda stops and lets the frog wiggle around in his mouth before he spits it out. This tattoo from Stephen Lindsay captures this scene, and somehow, makes Baby Yoda look even more adorable.
Our Last Hope
At the end of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, things were looking pretty good for the galaxy far, far away. However, with more Star Wars movies on the horizon, one can only wonder if Baby Yoda will play a larger role in a new trilogy and face a new threat.
This tattoo by Bobby Moustache features a hopeful looking Baby Yoda using the Force. Maybe in the near future, Baby Yoda will be called the heroes’ last hope? After all, he seems to save the day quite often whenever the heroes on The Mandalorian have lost all hope.
Big Eyes
Nobody will ever forget the first time Mano laid eyes on Baby Yoda. It was a shocking moment for both Mando and the audience, as fans were not expecting to be introduced to a new little green friend.
While the Child was originally just a bounty for the Mandalorian, he couldn’t bring himself to kill or abandon the Child to the remnants of the Empire. Part of the reason is likely because of how cute the little guy was with his big shiny eyes. Tattoo artist Brandoom takes that to an extreme, drawing Baby Yoda with big shiny eyes while he tries to use the Force.
Chillin’ Like A Villain
When fans are first introduced to the Child, he is in a floating pod that acts as a crib. Mando often shuts Baby Yoda inside to protect him, before having to ditch the pod early on in the season to smuggle him away from the Client.
Baby Yoda’s pod was included in this piece by Stu Clark, who even includes a flower to give it a little extra flare. Baby Yoda is sitting inside his pod and looking pretty smug, and innocent, at the same time.
Tight
Baby Yoda might be 50 years old, but he is still incredibly small. After all, some species age differently. Despite his size, the Child is still a force to be reckoned with. The Child is able to heal people and is also quite strong with the Force. That being said, Baby Yoda can’t talk yet, leading people to only guess what he is thinking.
This artwork by Barry Huffman shows a pudgy little Baby Yoda in his pod, thinking the word “tight.” One can only imagine what Mando did to make the Child think that.
A Plump Little Green Friend
Baby Yoda is cute as it is, but it’s clear that illustrated versions can be even more adorable. Artists are able to exaggerate certain features or even create a more minimalistic look. In this piece by Stephen Lindsey, Baby Yoda has stubby little arms and legs and is basically just a little round ball.
He also has red cheeks to accompany his small eyes. If Baby Yoda isn’t careful and eats too many more space frogs, he might look like this tiny plump fella.
Baby Yoda Caricature
Not a lot is known about Yoda’s species. In fact, fans don’t even know the name of his species, which is kind of surprising since he is one of the most recognizable characters in the Star Wars universe. That being said, one thing is for sure; Yoda and the Child’s species look like no other creature in the galaxy.
This tattoo by Stacy Pierce looks like Baby Yoda, but is more of a caricature of the character. The Child is peaking out of his space pod, with big brown eyes with his little claws gripping the side of the pod. Needless to say, this tattoo should be on any list talking about most adorable Yoda tattoos.
Picture Perfect
We’ve already established that Baby Yoda is cute, so a tattoo that looks just like the character is of course going to be cute as well. This tattoo by Nick Pierce captures the look of the Child almost perfectly and even has some cool artwork of Mando as well.
As you can see above, Baby Yoda is sitting in his pod, which is made to look like the top of the Mandalorian’s helmet. With a tattoo of this size, this person is clearly a devoted Star Wars fan. He even has a tattoo of Boba Fett below his new Baby Yoda tat.
Baby Yoda Hearts Mando
Baby Yoda conveys a lot of emotions on The Mandalorian, but he’s the cutest when he is happy and having fun. There are a lot of things that make the Child happy, such as children, space frogs, the knob inside Mando’s ship, and of course Din Djarin himself.
This tattoo from Bea Iglesias shows Baby Yoda’s head in the shape of a heart, with his Jedi robes lining up with the bottom of the heart. With all this in mind, if Baby Yoda turns to the dark side, it could make this tattoo (and many others on this list) a bit awkward.
