The Office has a lot of hilarious episodes that are quite memorable. The internet loves the show, and it’s definitely still quoted and used in memes all the time. While there are good and hilarious episodes that cover all kinds of topics, some of the most fun and memorable episodes of the show are the holiday episodes. The Office had many Christmas and Halloween episodes as well as a few other holidays here and there.
We’ve collected a list of the ten best holiday episodes of all kinds from The Office and ranked them to lead up to the best of all.
“BLOOD DRIVE”
While Halloween and Christmas episodes might steal the show, The Office also had a few different episodes that were focused on Valentine’s Day. A couple of these episodes were actually more interesting than some of the later Christmas episodes even. This episode is all about Michael dealing with the holiday after his break up with Holly. He throws a hilariously disastrous singles mixer that is quite funny. Also, Pam and Jim go to lunch with Bob Vance and Phylis.
“VALENTINE’S DAY”
This episode has a simple title that gets across what the episode is about. This episode is in the second season and is less about the holiday but really funny. One of the highlights is seeing Pam’s frustration at how little Roy does for her for Valentine’s Day.
But, the really great part of this episode is seeing Michael as he heads to NYC for a meeting at corporate. Seeing him explore the city as a tourist is one of the funniest things on the show.
“HALLOWEEN”
While a couple of the Valentine’s Day episodes were fun with some hilarious and insightful character moments, the Halloween episodes are a little bit better. This is actually the first Halloween episode of The Office. It’s at the start of the second season, and it’s filled with many iconic costumes. The most memorable of all is Jim dressing up as a three-hole-punch Jim. We also get to see how into the holiday Dwight is when he dressed up as a Sith Lord.
“CLASSY CHRISTMAS”
It’s hard to say which The Office holiday episodes are better: the Christmas ones or the Halloween ones. Classy Christmas is a solid Christmas episode that takes place in the seventh season. This is the episode where Holly comes back to Scranton.
Seeing Michael insist on making a “classy” party for Holly is pretty hilarious and adorable. Plus, we see Jim and Pam give each other more heartfelt gifts at the same time Dwight wields a snowball war of terror upon Jim.
“BENIHANA CHRISTMAS”
This is another classic Christmas episode the series, and it takes place in season three. Michael definitely doesn’t always know how to act when it comes to romance, and this is proof of that. When Carol breaks up with him, he goes with Jim, Dwight, and Andy to Benihana. Then, he invites a waitress from Benihana’s to be his date to Dunder Mifflin’s Christmas party. The main highlight of this episode is seeing Karen and Pam team up to make a rival Christmas party to Angela’s. This episode is definitely peak The Office.
“COSTUME CONTEST”
It’s definitely difficult to rank some of these episodes as many of them are so good. Your favorites depend a lot on if you’re more of a Halloween or a Christmas person. This episode from the start of season seven is centered around a costume contest with a prize of a coupon book. Everyone in the office is very excited about this prize, and they pull out all the stops to impress and win. This episode has many memorable costumes, but the sweetest one is seeing Jim dress up as Popeye to make Pam happy.
“MOROCCAN CHRISTMAS”
This episode is full of laughs. In this episode, Phyllis has learned of Angela’s affair with Dwight and is using this to finally get the upper hand on her. This leads her to do a Moroccan theme which Angela despises. While Phyllis might not be admirable for blackmailing Angela, seeing how Angela used to treat her as head of the Party Planning Committee, it’s easy to see where she’s coming from. Also, this is the episode where Michael tries to stage a badly thought out intervention for Meredith’s episode. This episode is extremely funny, and it’s definitely one of the best Christmas episodes. The other highlight is Dwight selling marked-up Princess Unicorns to desperate parents. Who can forget, “my horn can pierce the sky?”
“SECRET SANTA”
This is another Christmas episode that is full of some truly hilarious moments. This episode from season six is the one where Jim tells Phyllis that she can be Santa this year. Michael is, unsurprisingly, jealous of this. He throws a tantrum and pretends to be Jesus in an attempt to one-up Phyllis. This leads to some hilarious lines such as “Happy birthday, Jesus. Sorry, your party’s so lame.” This episode is full of laughs as well as some sweet moments. Michael definitely takes the show in this episode, but seeing all of the employees of Dunder Mifflin have a Christmas party and all the ridiculous things they get up to is always a good time.
“CHRISTMAS PARTY”
This was one of the first holiday episodes from The Office. This episode takes place in season two, and it definitely sets the tone for all of the other holiday episodes to come from the show. At the Christmas party, everyone has a secret Santa. However, when Michael doesn’t like the gift he gets, he makes everyone play a game to switch their gifts around. One of the best things about this episode is when Jim gives Pam the teapot full of inside jokes. He also almost gives her a letter with his feelings in a scene that has significance in the final season.
