The video touts the benefits of upgrading, showing that Windows 10 provides the best of Windows 7 and Windows 8.1… meaning the familiar Start menu of Windows 7 on the desktop and the live tiles included in Windows 8. And also promoting the fact that it’s completely free for Windows 7 SP1 and Windows 8.1 users.

According to a new post on Blogging Windows: “Today, we’re kicking off a series of blog posts sharing Windows 10 features like Cortana, Microsoft Edge, the Xbox app, Windows Hello, and more. To start the series, we’re beginning with familiarity in Windows 10.” Note that Cortana is only available in select markets, and the Windows Hello feature requires specialized hardware. Update: 7/19/2015  Microsoft is also celebrating its launch with global fan celebrations, a year-long initiative called Upgrade Your World. Microsoft says: “To bring the campaign to life, we see young children from around the world in their natural settings in Morocco, Thailand, Iceland, England, and the U.S. Supporting our mission of empowering every person and organization to achieve more, the ads show how technology should be more natural, human and intuitive, and adapt to people’s needs.”
